Mr. Kong Athit, President of CLC, attended a tripartite meeting of the National Minimum Wage Council to continue discussions on determining the minimum wage for the textile, garment, footwear, travel goods, and bag sectors for 2026. The meeting took place on the morning of September 3, 2025, at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

As of today, a total of 11 meetings have been held to discuss and negotiate the minimum wage. These include two tripartite meetings, three bipartite meetings, three internal meetings for workers’ representatives, and three internal meetings for employers’ representatives.

Representatives of the Royal Government continued to facilitate and provide further explanations regarding the social and economic criteria to both workers’ and employers’ representatives.

As a result, the workers’ representatives proposed an increase of $10 on top of the current figure of $208, while the employers’ representatives proposed maintaining the current figure of $208.

The meeting participants agreed to set the date for the next tripartite discussion for September 10, 2025.
