On the morning of December 4, 2024, the leaders of the Cambodian labour Confederation, President CLC’s Mr. Kong Athit and his colleagues attended the announcement of the verdict on the appeal in the case of Mr. Morm Rithy, President of the Cambodian Tourism and Service Workers Federation (CTSWF). As a result, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court decided to uphold the verdict in absentia, sentencing Mr. Mam Rithy to 18 months in prison and a fine of 2 million riels.
Mr. Kong Athit, President of CLC, urged the court to provide justice and release Mr. Morm Rithy to freedom in the cause of protecting the rights, freedoms and interests of workers.
