In cooperation with the affiliated trade unions, associations, and NGOs, CLC organizes the celebration of the 76th International Human Rights Day under the theme of “Freedom of Association and Social Protection” on December 8, 2024, at Freedom Park, presided over by H.E. Heng Sour, minister of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, with more than 2,000 workers from confederations, federations, trade unions, associations, and NGOs.
There are 3 notable reasons to celebrate this event:
– To commemorate the day of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, including Cambodia.
– To give the space to confederations, associations, and workers to express their concerns and suggestions on social protection, Labour law, and their needs in labour sectors.
– To advance their cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), relevant ministries, local authorities, and those who have full rights to make a decision on worker rights and social protection.
CLC always works with relevant bodies, especially RGC, employers, and NGOs, to promote the social dialogue and industrial relations that advance the decent living conditions of formal and informal workers in Cambodia. There is only good industrial relations that leads to true-hearted bargaining.
