Meeting with local trade union in Phnom Penh International Airport
On the afternoon of March 05, 2023; the CLC president Mr. Ath Thorn met the local trade union leaders and members who are members of the Cambodian Transportation Workers Federation, a CLC’s affiliated federation, at Phnom Penh International Airport.
In this meeting, Thorn shared some information on 3 important missions of CLC: training, organizing, and providing legal support. In addition, he also presented the cooperation of CLC in promoting workers’ rights and better living conditions in national, regional, and international.
Besides, responding to participants’ requests, Thorn explained the four schemes of NSSF; Occupational Risk scheme, Health Care scheme, Pension scheme, and Unemployment scheme, focusing on the benefits and conditions of these schemes. Also, he illustrated to them some methods or procedures to respond to labour rights violations and NSSF usage.
The Cambodian Labor Union was established on April 9, 2006 and registered at No KB / VK on December 31, 2008 at the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, a democratic and independent federation. Currently, CLC has 124023 members from 10 member federations, associations and unions ...
