Mr. Ath Thorn, CLC president, joined the World Press Freedom Day 2024 with the theme, “A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the face of Environmental Crisis” which was organized by the Cambodian Journalists Alliance Association CamboJA at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh on the morning of May 02, 2024.
There were some important agendas of this WPFD;
– Video screening on the current situation of journalists in reporting environmental articles
– Discussion session 1 on Media Role’s in Enhancing Environmental Awareness and Innovative Solutions
– Discussion session 2 on Strengthening Environmental Journalism in Cambodia: Addressing Challenges and Promoting Collaborative Solutions
– Findings from the Monitoring Reports on the Harassment, Threats, and Detentions on Journalists in Cambodia
200 participants joined this World Press Freedom Day 2024 from the representatives of the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Environment, some ambassadors in Cambodia, national and international organizations, Indigenous people, and journalists.
