On the morning of November 29, 2021, Mr. Ath Thorn, President of the Cambodian Labor Confederation, led the leaders of the Federation of Trade Unions for Tourism Services in Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on HE Dr. Ith Sam Heng, Minister of Labor. And vocational training.

Mr. Ath Thorn mentioned the challenges in the tourism sector, such as: the closure of enterprises, unpaid compensation and other benefits to workers, the lack of fixed insurance premiums, tourism, non-payment of remittances. There is still a minimum wage in the tourism sector, in the case of labor disputes, the company Smile Angkor, in the case of the Siem Reap-Phnom Penh airport dispute, in the case of joint and individual disputes, and criminal lawsuits against unions that have been filed since 2019.

At this meeting, the Minister of Labor responded to the request of the union and some of the above points and agreed to meet with the Cambodian Labor Union once a year to listen to the issues and issues related to the labor sector. .
