The Determination Meeting for Minimum Wage 2024
On August 28, 2023: the National Minimum Wage Council holds a 2nd meeting of the 3rd National Minimum Wage Council to discuss the determination of the 2024 Minimum Wage for workers in workers in garment, textile, footwear, travel, and bag products.
Mr. Ath Thorn, CLC president, raised the concerns of workers regarding the over-expenses but low income that makes workers face more challenges.
Thorn also called on the government and employers to increase wages, address and prevent expensive products, build national utility systems for workers, and enhance the scope of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for their family members to reduce the workers ‘expenses.
The National Minimum Wage Council will continue to have the next meeting on September 4, 2023.
