The CLC president Mr. Ath Thorn said that, by tripartite meeting on this morning of September 18, the employer representatives were in favor of US$1.50 (US$201.50), the government representatives increased US$2 (US$202) while the independent unions decreased their figure into US$13 (US$213) and other trade unions ask for increasing MW figure at US$4 (US$204).
He said; “The Trade Union should talk after we [Independant Trade Union] have decreased the MW figure to [only US$213]. But there may no more be declined and [it] must conduct the election process if there is no decision on September 28.”
He added the Trade union representatives continued to have closed-door meetings to find solutions and mechanisms that could increase more figure amount than. He continued that the employee representatives will take the workers’s messages and concerns via social media channels to the government and other parties to change their opinion and offer a better Minimum Wage.
“We ask for the employee sides to continue to urge via various campaigns to sway the employers and government regarding more increasing of MW,” Thorn said.
