Trade Union: The figure of US$201.5 for the garment workers does not fit with their needs

On September 18, 2023, Mr. Ath Thorn, CLC President, told VAYO that for the current situation, the determination of the figure of US$201.5 for garment workers does not fulfill their needs.

The CLC president continued that, for the current situation of employees, they push themselves to work overtime, adding more than 2 to 4 hours over the working hours, because of the low Minimum Wage. They sometimes do not have free time even on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. Separately, their daily expense is not enough for them.

Also, Mr. Thorn said their health is not good because they work more than having food and rest.
